"Home Affordable Modification Program"

Resources to help you with your HAMP implementation

In recent months, we've issued several Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide (Guide) Bulletins announcing important updates to requirements for the Home Affordable Modification program (HAMP). As you continue to work with more borrowers, we want to make sure you have quick and easy access to the most current tools and resources that will help your program implementation, including:

  • Chapter C65 of the Guide, which sets forth the requirements for modifying mortgages under the program.
  • Our HAMP Web site where you can find:
    • Program Details – information on eligibility, borrower solicitation, underwriting requirements, as well as information on reporting and program-related incentives available for borrowers and Servicers.

    • Servicing Tools – to access tools for soliciting as well as qualifying borrowers. Also, you may access the spreadsheet for weekly HAMP reporting to Freddie Mac. You will need your mortgage servicing products ID and password to access these secured HAMP tools.

    • Training and Education – to access reference materials and details on web-based training opportunities that cover the features and benefits of HAMP and the Making Home Affordable Program.

    • Additional Resources – other valuable resources including Freddie Mac's Avoiding Foreclosure Center and the administration's Making Home Affordable Program Web site.
  • Our Uniform Instruments Web site where you can download HAMP Uniform Instruments Form 3156, Home Affordable Modification Trial Period Plan and Form 3157, Home Affordable Modification Agreement.
  • Webinars that cover the features and benefits of the program, and HAMP tools and resources.
